Our Model Offerings

  • LDLR KO Mouse Model
    These mice exhibit a 2- to 3-fold increase in total and LDL cholesterol on a normal chow diet, with exacerbated hyperlipidemia and pronounced aortic root lesions when fed a high-fat, high-cholesterol Western diet. The model faithfully mimics the hepatic clearance defect seen in heterozygous and homozygous FH patients.
  • APOE KO Mouse Model
    On a normal diet, these animals develop severe spontaneous hypercholesterolemia and complex, calcified, rupture-prone atherosclerotic plaques throughout the aorta, closely resembling human advanced FH-related cardiovascular pathology. The model is independent of dietary manipulation, offering a consistent baseline for long-term studies.
