Mannan-Induced Psoriatic Arthritis Model in Mice

The mannan-induced psoriatic arthritis mouse model is a well-established preclinical platform for studying psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and evaluating therapeutic candidates. A single intraperitoneal injection of mannan induces both inflammatory arthritis and psoriasis-like skin lesions in susceptible mouse strains, recapitulating key clinical and immunological features of human PsA. The model is characterized by joint swelling, erythema, epidermal hyperplasia, and immune cell infiltration, and is driven by innate immune activation with subsequent IL-17A-mediated inflammatory responses.
