Customized Animal Models of Ocular Neovascularization

Ace Therapeutics supports researchers with preclinical ocular neovascularization studies, providing fit-for-purpose model development and study execution in corneal, ocular-surface, retinal, and choroidal neovascularization settings. Guided by research objectives, our team helps shape study designs to characterize vascular growth, regression, and leakage over time. We provide preclinical evaluation services to support diverse therapeutic modalities and routes of administration, with integrated structural, functional, and molecular endpoints to assess efficacy and the mechanism-of-action.

Pathobiology of Ocular Neovascularization

Ocular neovascularization is the pathological formation of blood and sometimes lymphatic vessels within normally avascular ocular tissues such as the cornea, ocular surface, retina, and choroid. It can arise after inflammation, hypoxia, ischemia, or mechanical injury. Imbalance between pro-angiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors, with vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) signaling as a central driver, promotes endothelial activation, vessel sprouting, leakage, and tissue remodeling. Inflammatory and stromal cells sustain the angiogenic milieu, and epigenetic mechanisms modulate these responses. Preclinical animal models of ocular neovascularization are essential tools for mechanistic and therapeutic evaluation.

Explore Our Animal Models of Ocular Neovascularization

At Ace Therapeutics, our preclinical platform supports the development of customized ocular neovascularization animal models across corneal, ocular-surface, retinal, and choroidal compartments in multiple species. These ocular neovascularization models allow controlled recapitulation of key pathological events such as angiogenic activation, vessel ingrowth, leakage, and tissue remodeling, creating a translational bridge between in vitro studies and in vivo pharmacology. The same framework accommodates a broad spectrum of therapeutic modalities and routes of administration, supporting side-by-side evaluation across indications or candidates.

Ocular Neovascularization Animal Model Evaluation Services

We offer integrated efficacy and mechanistic readouts for ocular neovascularization studies, turning in vivo model responses into structured, quantitative datasets. These readouts support early exploratory work, candidate comparison, and more in-depth characterization under defined dosing regimens and routes of administration.

Service Category Available Services
