Type I collagen is found in connective tissues and is the major component of tensile strength of the extracellular matrix (ECM). The product is widely used as a thin layer on tissue-culture surfaces to enhance the attachment and proliferation of a variety of cells including endothelial cells, fibroblasts, hepatocytes, epithelial cells, etc. In addition, the product can self-assemble into a 3-D supramolecular gel in vitro as an ideal biological scaffold.

Rat Tail Tendon Collagen Type I, 5mg/ml is prepared by the method of Birkedal-Hansen through acetic acid extraction, sodium chloride precipitation, disodium hydrogen phosphate precipitation, and other steps. This product can be used to coat cell culture vessels and culture some cells that are difficult to adhere to in ordinary cell culture vessels. Type III collagen is the second most abundant collagen in tissues and is found most commonly in tissues exhibiting elastic properties such as skin, lungs, intestinal walls, and walls of blood vessels, which resembles other fibrillar collagens in structure and function. Type III collagen together with type I collagen are the main constituents of the interstitial matrix.

Collagen, Type I Solution from Rat Tail from Ace Therapeutics is derived from rat tail, which used in tissue engineering especially in the generation of 3-D scaffolds based gels.

Collagens Type IV is derived from bovine tissue treated with pepsin. This product does not gel and needs to be mixed with collagen type I-A.

Collagen Solution, 3.0 mg/mL from Ace Therapeutics is purified from bovine tissue. The solution is used to prepare collagen-coated cell culture surfaces to promote adhesion, growth, morphology, migration, and differentiation of various cell types. This product is suitable for culturing human hematopoietic stem cells.
